KNIFE HITS RECORDS is an independent punk music label.
Founded in 2004 as an off-shoot of the sludge punk band FIGHT AMPUTATION, the label was originally coined a collective due to it’s on-again-off-again habit of releasing various formats, it’s communal nature of various entities chipping in to release music, and it’s existence as a show/tour promoter from time to time.
In the last few years, KNIFE HITS has settled into mostly short-run cassette and split releases and has acted as a home-base for the now defunct FIGHT AMP, as well as it’s more current offshoot LOW DOSE which received the first full cross-format release in KNIFE HITS history.
2020 brought us KNIFE HITS releasing more than ever, and finally venturing beyond FIGHT AMP offshoot projects while still focusing on the new LOW DOSE / FIGHT AMP band RID OF ME, as well as starting the cassette reissues of the FIGHT AMP back catalogue.
2021 saw KNIFE HITS busiest year up until that point and the label began to piece together a full lineup of new bands, continuing the FIGHT AMP reissues and releases for RID OF ME, as well as incorporating releases from longtime legacy bands like CHERUBS.
2022 ended up being the busiest year ever for Knife Hits, continuing the prior projects and adding numerous bands to the lineup while releasing 13 different projects throughout the year.
2023 promises to see the label launch into it’s most prolific era yet.
